Austin received a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema-Television from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. He also holds a degree from the New York Film Academy.

Over the last 10 years Austin has directed numerous short films, music videos and commercials.

Austin currently lives in Seattle and works part-time as a freelance illustrator and works full-time as a Creative Director for More Dust.
